Hi I'm Travis John Bloomfield

I am serving a mission in Fukuoka, Japan. I love my family. I love to serve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play soccer no matter what time of day or weather it is. I come from a family of six kids so it is always an adventure in my home. I love to play the piano and wish I had the ability to play like Chopin. But don't we all? My family moved around quite a bit when I was little, I was born in Arizona, and then we moved to Seoul Korea, then to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, then to Sendai, Japan. After living overseas we moved back to the U.S. where we lived in Texas for ten years until after I graduated from highschool we then moved to California. Highschool was a blast and I got very involved. I participated Bowie Buddies (group working with kids with special needs), PALS (group working with and mentoring children in elementary schools), Student Leadership (group mentoring and teaching freshman in highschool), our highschool Student Councl, Saving Sophie (group raising donations for cystic fibrosis research), as well as the Cross Country and Soccer team. I also participated in Boy Scouts and received my Eagle Scout award in highschool. I just completed two semesters of college and am now serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has made me what I am today. Living the gospel of our church has helped me to live a life safe from bad decision making and has brought me more joy than I can express. I go to church every Sunday because there is no greater feeling than I recieve every Sabbath day. I feel refreshed and motivated to do such great things so I can be like Jesus Christ and help those around me and myself so that I can one day return to my Heavenly Father in heaven. I am a Mormon because I know for myself that the gospel of our church that is taught to us is true unto every last detail and I know the words written in the Book of Mormon are true and written for us and to help us with our everyday life. I know that if I read the Book Of Mormon I will not only come closer to my Heavenly Father but my day will be brighter and happier and it will be much easier to make the correct decisions in my life. I am a Mormon because the members of the church are always supporting and respectful to me. I am a Mormon because I love my family and through this gospel we can live together for eternity.

How I live my faith

Next week I will leave my friends and family for a 2 year mission trip for my church to Fukuoka, Japan. On this mission I will provide service to the members within the Church there as well as anyone I may come into contact with that may need some help. In addition to serving the people of Japan, I will try to spread the teachings and beliefs of our church and bring everyone I can closer to Christ. Before my mission I worked with other kids my age and was a leader within the group and helped plan activities that were not only fun for everyone but also brought the goup closer together.
