Hi I'm Nicole

I grew up with the gospel. I studied a semester abroad in Jerusalem which changed everything for me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student in my fourth semester. I began studying Animal Science, but I'm now switching over to Health Science. I've worked on a cattle ranch in Montana for the past four summers, and I enjoy working with horses. I play guitar and also love to draw. I spent a semester abroad in Jerusalem studying the Holy Land and the Bible. That experience opened my eyes to the truth of Christ's life and ministry. I am the second child of four, three girls and one boy. My older sister is currently serving a mission, and I am preparing to leave on a mission this summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, both my parents have strong roots in the gospel. While I was growing up, it was a matter of just going through the motions and doing what I was supposed to. Now that I've grown up and realized how important the gospel has been in my life, I do all that I can to continue to learn and live the gospel. I have experienced many times a very desperate need for Christ and His love. I know without a doubt that I would not be this happy today if I did not have the gospel. It has pulled me through many trials and given me the strength I need. There is nothing in the world that would take me away from this church. Everyday, even if I am going through something challenging, I smile randomly just because I am so incredibly happy to have this perfect understanding of the gospel. I don't know where I would be without it. I love this church more than anything.

How I live my faith

I always attend church on Sundays whether I am working in Montana, going to school, or living at home. I have been called to many assignments in my church over the years. My favorite callings have been a teacher for the adult class and also a teacher for the children (ages 4-5). I prepare lessons to teach, and I tailor my lessons to the individuals in my class. Whenever there is an opportunity during church, I love to bear my testimony to others of everything that I have learned.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Nicole
We believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. He created this earth under the direction of our Heavenly Father, and was sent down here for our sake. He suffered incredible physical and spiritual pain to save us from our sins so we can return to our Heavenly Father. He was resurrected after he was crucified so that we can overcome death. I have always known this to be true, but especially after my experience in Jerusalem, I cannot ever doubt all that Christ has done. I have prayed in both the Garden Tomb (where he was resurrected) and the Garden of Gethsemane (where he suffered for our sins). The Spirit there was so incredibly strong, it brought me to my knees in humility. I cannot fathom the suffering Christ went through. I also can't believe how many of us on earth don't know about or realize the amazing sacrifice he gave for us. No one has to suffer--ever. He already suffered everything for us and all he asks is for us to come to him. He is the perfect example of love. Show more Show less
