Hi I'm Shelly

I'm 50 yrs. old, married w/3 kids who were born in Napa, CA & I have 3 jobs & now live in Yuba City, CA & I am a Mormon

About Me

I'm a mom who grew up as a tom boy and loved softball, I grew apart from the church for about 10 years when I turned 18 and now my middle daughter is doing the same thing. During the time I was away from the Church I met my husband who had a daughter who's mother had died in a car accident and we were married and we had a daughter and a son. My husband is a Catholic, my step daughter is Baptist, my oldest daughter is rebelling and my son is getting ready to go on his mission. I work 3 part time jobs now that my husband is disabled. We may not all be Mormons but we are all accepted and welcomed by the members of the church and I am very thankful for my family. As Mormons we come in all shapes and sizes

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of Christs Church because I want to be reunited with my family and be sealed to them forever. I want to be married to my husband forever and not until death do us part. I believe in Christs teachings and it's up to me to learn them and live them.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday school for 7 year olds and I am the stake activities director for young women and women, we just finished basketball and will be getting ready for softball soon. Occasionally we play volleyball which is another sport I love. I used to be involved in the Young Womens program which is were I was involved with some extraordinary young women who I also had the privilege to go to girls camp a few years with. When you are involved with these programs I truly believe we learn as much as the young people we teach. We also have a program in our Church where the women all look after each other and give each other support, we all are assigned to visit or contact someone every month to check on them and make sure everything is alright which is a comfort to all of us to know that not only that people care but that we have backup.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We as Mormons are happy that a young boy named Joseph Smith was brave enough to get down on his knees and ask in a prayer what the right Church was and then follow thru with what for most of us would have been too much to bear with the criticism and persecution that he endured in order to re-establish the Church that Christ had already established on this earth once before.
