Hi I'm Alexandria

I grew up in Utah. I went to school at BYUI. I am serving a mission in the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Ali a 20 year old girl. I was born to two members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Utah. I have 4 siblings. My parents got divorced and remarried and from that I've gained 6 step brothers an sisters and and 1 half sister. I've lived in Texas, Arizona, Alabama, Utah, Arkansas, and Idaho. I recently just finished my 5th semester at BYUI where I was studying Math and Health Education. I enjoy swimming, reading, and watching movies. I love to laugh and therefore anything or anyone that can make me laugh I love automatically. I have a weird obsession with fake mustaches, I love the movie Jurassic Park, and one day I want to own a red Jeep Wrangler. I'm also currently serving in the Naga Philippines Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church but that doesn't necessarily mean I always knew it was true. When I was starting out high school our teacher in Sunday school challenged us to read the Book of Mormon. At first I didn't take it very seriously but as I kept reading. I gradually knew it was true. I remember one day specifically I was praying for comfort and I felt this calmness come over me and later that night I read my Book of Mormon and I read just what I needed to read and I knew that God loved me and that he would take care of me. I knew from then on for myself that the Book of Mormon was true and if that was true then Joseph Smith really was a prophet and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is the one fully true church. I know that God loves me. I know that when things get hard he is always there for me lifting me back up. He answers our prayers and he knows what is best for us. I know that when I'm following the commandments and being the best that I can God blesses me. I see little tender mercies that he sends every day. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet I know that every prophet this church has had since then has been a true and living prophet. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet and that he receives revelation for the church today. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I have faith that through following the commandments I will once again return to live with my family and my Heavenly Father. I know these things and they give me hope that's why I'm a mormon. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I really love serving others and I recently have felt strongly that the best way for me to do that right now is to serve a mission. I'll be leaving for the Naga Philippines Mission on April 24th. I'm doing this so that I can share the gospel with people who haven't yet had the chance to hear it.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Faith comes from acting. Its kind of like working out. Sitting at home and not doing anything isn't going to increase your muscle mass but going to the gym and working out will make you stronger. With faith you have to put time and effort into it. You have to read your scriptures, pray, go to the temple, do service for others, follow the commandments, listen to the Prophet and other church leaders, pay your tithing, keep the sabbath day holy, etc. You have to act on these things and gradually you will come to know they are true and your faith which started out as a little seed will continue to grow.
