Hi I'm Shayla Peterson

I am an athlete, I am happy, I love my family, and I love being a missionary!

About Me

One of my main motivations in life is to be happy! My dad taught me, "If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!" In everything I do, I try my best to keep a positive attitude. Sometimes it is hard because I am competative! Having 3 brothers doesn't help! I love to ballroom dance, run, learn, play soccer, volleyball, the paino, guitar or do anything that involves moving! I also really enjoy school. Last year I got my Associates Degree and will soon get my Bachelors. It has been a goal my whole life to serve an LDS mission. After I found out I had Thyroid cancer, the possibility didn't seem very high. I thank the Lord everyday that I am now cancer free, and am able to share His word in the Denmark Copenhagen Mission in the Danish language for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy! I know we all have trials, but through Christ, they are made easier! I have read The Book of Mormon, and I have no doubt that it is the word of God. Read it. Find out for yourself (Moroni 10:4). It was written by prophets who were called of God. Though it was written thousands of years ago, it still applys to us in our modern day. I am a Mormon because I can feel my Heavenly Father's love for me. Physically feel his love through the Holy Ghost. I know that if we pray with real intent, we WILL get an answer to our prayers. We can recieve personal revelation! I am a mormon because I want to be. I am serving a mission because I want to be here. I am a mormon because I found out the truthfullness of this gospel for myself, and I live it because it makes me happy! I feel so blessed to know that He lives!

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to live my life as the Savior would. We aren't asked to DIE for the Savior as he did for us, but to LIVE for him! Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for me, so I can live again. I owe him everything for that opportunity! I hope to be an example to the people around me, so those who don't know Christ, will be able to feel Him through me. I am currently serving the Lord in Denmark as a full time missionary. I wear his name on my nametag every day, and feel privileged for the opportunity. I find so much joy in sharing the gospel! I love helping other people find the same happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me. This restored gospel changes lives!
