Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up in Arizona. I love laughing and having fun! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty easy going guy. I love playing different instruments, having fun, and learning new things. I'm a newlywed, and I love my wife, Summer, more than anything. At this point in my life, I'm working on my bachelor's degree and hoping to get into optometry school in a couple years.

Why I am a Mormon

First, my parents lovingly raised me in the church. One of the official documents of the Church says that, "Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord, Jesus Christ". My parents definitely applied that, and much of who I am today stems from that. Second, the truths of Jesus Christ and His gospel are simple and beautiful. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches this doctrine in it's fullness, and encourages its members to not just hear the doctrine, but to practice it in their everyday lives. This is what brings true freedom and happiness. Third, I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I had always heard others talking about how they knew that the Book of Mormon was true. However, I wanted to know for myself if it really was scripture from God's inspired prophets, so I asked in God in prayer the specific question of whether or not the Book of Mormon was true. When I asked this question, the Holy Ghost (God's messenger) filled me with such an electrifying feeling of warmth and love that I knew without a doubt from that moment on that the Book of Mormon was true. I also learned from that experience that God does hear and answer individual prayers, and that He is looking out for each one of His children. Because I now know that the Book of Mormon is true, that means that I now know that everything else that the Church teaches is true. It means that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and because of His sacrifice, I can return to my Heavenly Father's presence after this life with my family.

How I live my faith

One of the many reasons why I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that everybody in the congregation has the opportunity to be involved in some way or another. All of the members of the church - including the leaders - are volunteers, so we all get to play a part! Recently, my wife and I were asked by our bishop to teach a small scripture class every other week during church. We love having the opportunity to teach because, as we prepare the lessons, we end up learning so much more than we knew before! Teaching allows me to live my faith more fully. However, probably even more important than what I do on Sunday is what I do during the rest of the week. I try my best to follow the example that Jesus Christ set for all of us. This means being patient, forgiving, kind, charitable, and loving to everyone around me. Of course, I fall short a lot. But, I keep trying anyway. That's really what being a member of the Church is all about. No one is perfect. We are all sinners and make mistakes, but our loving Heavenly Father just wants us to repent and keep trying. We are God's children, and He has sent us to Earth to learn, grow, and find true happiness. So, in a nutshell, I live my faith by trying my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ. :)
