Hi I'm Clyde

I grew up in Utah.I am a retired Religious Educator for the LDS Church.I enjoy woodworking , riding motorcycles and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy camping and fishing. I have a hobby of woodworking and I drive a BMW R1150 RT Motorcycle. I am a father of 6 and a grandfather of 21. I taught Religion to high school youth for 38 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that belonged to the Mormon faith, but did not participate very much in it. I had some good friends who were actively participating in the church and they included me. I felt needed and accepted as I participated with the teachings of the Church. I felt that I needed to know for myself that what the Church practiced and taught was true. I prayed and read the Book of Mormon. I received a spiritual witness that there is a God in Heaven. That his son Jesus Christ was a perfect example for us while he lived on the earth and that by following the will of his father provided the atonement whereby we all can become like him and live with him. I found that the ancient church that Christ organized in the New Testament fell into apostasy and that in our time a young boy, Joseph Smith, was called to be the instrument in God's hands to restore the ancient gospel to the earth in our time. I feel that the priesthood was also restored and that priesthood keys are present on earth today. I found that the Book of Mormon is a second witness for Christ. I found that the Holy Ghost is real and testifies of God and the truths he teaches. It is a companionship that blesses my life everyday. I know that when participating with the restored ordinances that my life's experience is enhanced. The ordinance of Marriage allows me to be sealed to my wife and family for eternity. I can't think a greater blessing than that.

How I live my faith

I have participated in the church all my life. I have worked with the youth as a scout master and as a ecclesiastical leader. I have taught my religion to the youth of the church in a daily setting during a released time period during their high school years. I visit member neighbors to help encourage them to live their religion. I also volunteer and my local elementary school twice each week helping young people practice reading. I also volunteer time to keep our cemetery clean and looking nice.
