Hi I'm Joshua Lapeyrouse

I live in North Carolina, I love music , basketball, and having a good time. Im a Mormon.

About Me

About me: I am 21 right now and served a mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West mission. I love to play basketball and hang out with my friends just as much as the next guy. I love going to church and to learn more about our savior and what he has done for us.

Why I am a Mormon

There are plenty of reasons why i am a mormon or you can say happy to be a Mormon. One for sure is that of knowing what happens and happened before and after our life on earth. Its a such a great thing and blessing to have that knowledge, becuase we come here , and die , but thats not the end. Being a member of the church with the restored preisthood power on the earth is something i am very grateful for. If i didnt have it in my life then i honestly probably wouldnt like my life. Even though there is alot of people against Christs church i know in my heart of what The church is and its teachings of christs doctrines are true. Life aint meant to be easy so i will fight through it, it just makes everything that we believe and everything we stand for worth it. What if the pinonner trek was easy , whaaat if we werent persecuted , what if they were never driven out of anywhere, what if joseph smith had no opposers, then what......... where in all of that does that test their fatih towards our heavnly father.... it doesnt... so if lifes hard to test my faith then ill say bring it, we have to have that test and that test of everything else we are going to endure because of what believe in , but how much do we believe in it and live its teachings , thats up to the individual ....the things the church teaches us is what christ taught in his earthly ministry ...and i know that im always going to stand up for what i believe in, because the holyghost has testified the truth to me.

How I live my faith

I Live it well and with full Faith towards life. Faith is hope for the things which are not seen. And i know coming from a member his whole life it might not seem much. But we too being grown up in the church have to be converted unto the lord. Members grown up in the church are like fish in water. The fish is the last one to know that it is in water, because it was born in it, just as we into air. We can tell when we are under water just as the fish can tell he is out of water. Same with the gospel , and i have felt the holy ghost come into my life and told me that this church is true. And i try to live my faith and life to the teachings christ gave us as he was here on earth. Christ was the perfect teacher and set the example for all of us to try and live by. We are to live by our faith as he did, his faith to suffer for us and take upon all of our burdens was so great. And its that same faith that we should live by that if we were to be called to a position to lead christs church that we would have the strength and courage to do so. I have learned at 19 yrs old that to my trust in our heavnly father then we can accompllish anything in this life. And though i may be young , the lord through my faith has given me strength and the guidence i need in my life to continue and to ultimately live with him again. I remember the long week Christ had in his walk from the Garden of Gethsemane to Calvary hill, each step he took utterly alone, was a step for us towards eternity.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joshua Lapeyrouse
The answer to this question is no. We do not worship Joseph Smith, he was called to be a prophet in this dispenstion and time of Christs church. The Book of Mormon that he translated through the power of god testifys of Christ and his divinity along with our father who art in heaven. 2nd Nephi 25:26 states....."And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins". Everything in and about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints says it right there in the name of the church. The church of Jesus Christ. Its his church, if it be in mose's name or any other than his , it is their church , but if the church be in His name then it is his church. Directed today through a prophet and apostles. That hold the preisthood power,( the authority to act in gods name), and they have recieved it by the laying of the hands, the same as Christ did when he gave that authority to his apostles when he was on earth.Again we have the direct line of authority to Jesus Christ on the earth today. We are all under the guidence and influence of Christ. We give all thanksgiving to him and his father for what they give us. His church, his gospel , his peace. Show more Show less
