Hi I'm Carine Johnson

My name is Carine. I am a student at Brigham Young University. I like having fun and meeting new people. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an outgoing person, who loves being around people and doing new and fun things. I love reading, playing board games, traveling, and watching television. I am a student at Brigham Young University and I am about to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Madagascar. I am a sociology major and I hope to someday be a lawyer. I love the United States' great judicial system and I would love to be a part of it someday. I love history and American government, sometimes consider being a teacher, but I want to be a lawyer more. My favorite season is autumn and I hate winter. I love every holiday that is celebrated with food, presents, or fireworks. My favorite food type is bread or anything that promises to have a lot carbs. I like cookies more than I like bread, but only certain kinds of cookies. These include chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate Macedonian nut cookies. I have a very interesting family and I love them. My parents are Caucasians, my older brother is half korean, my older sister (who is only a month and two weeks older than me) is half Thai. I am Haitian and black and I have a little brother who is also from Haiti. (We are biological siblings.) Our family portrait looks a lot like a hallmark card. I love life and I love all the blessings that Heavenly Father has given. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I am following the guidance of the wonderful people who lead the church, I fell happy. I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I believe that Joseph Smith, a 14 years old boy, did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. I am a Mormon because the things that I learn make me happy and they make want to be and try to be a better person. I am a Mormon because I cannot imagine the kind of person I would be without the great truth of the church. My Heavenly Father loves me. My Savior loves me. And as long as I follow their commandments, I will one day live with them again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in the simplest ways possible. I go to church every sunday and I spend time with my family. I read my scriptures every night and I try to remember to read them in the morning. I say a prayer every morning and night. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father and Savior for everything they do for me. I love the feeling that I get from having the Holy Ghost near me. I love going to the temple and I appreciate the peaceful feeling that I get when I go. I take religion classes in order to better understand the gospel and church that I have come to rely on so deeply. I work hard to be kind and clean when I am interacting with those around me. I try very hard to live my life in a way that is representative of my church and of my savior.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Carine Johnson
The concept of being saved by Grace is one my favorite ones. It has taken me a very long time to fully grasp it. For me, the idea is that Christ has already saved me. He has atoned for my sins and there is nothing I can do to change that. However, in being saved by grace, have I allowed the everlasting sacrifice of the savior to change my life. Have I allowed myself to be changed by grace? This is where I believe that works come in. Show more Show less
