Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in California. I love to teach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to Frank and we have four grown children and ten amazing grandchildren. I went back to school after my children were grown and have had an amazing career as well. I do human resource training and consulting for teams and organizations and love my job! I also taught organizational development in college. I love teaching in lots of situations - love seeing the "lightbulb" go off in people's eyes as they see a new possibility or option.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was a member of the church and took me to church and taught me gospel principles at home and by example. She taught me the importance of love and charity. My dad supported her in this, but was not a member of the church. When I was eight years old, I was baptized a member and to my surprise, my dad chose to be baptized with me. It was a very special day and memory. My love of the gospel centers on the family, and especially the concept of the eternal nature of families. God gave us the perfect example of a loving Father and I trust and rely on that as the basis of my faith.

How I live my faith

Many of my years in the church I've had the privilege of working with the Young Women (ages12-18). Iv been able to teach them gospel lessons as well as join with them in their activities. Helping with basketball, volleyball, camping, dances and many other activities has been a joy. I was able to experience this program with my own daughters which added a special dimension to our relationship. I've also taught adult doctrine and gospel lessons. This is a special blessing as it required me to study the scriptures and I have found it true that the teacher always learns more than the students!
