Hi I'm Ben

I am a native Texan. I love running. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 18 years old and heading to the Colorado Denver North Mission! I graduated high school where I was very active in my Track Team. I went to college for one semester to study Environmental Science, and run Track. During that semester I decided to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am definitely an outdoor enthusiast, and love nature and all of the beautiful things we are blessed with. Running, Backpacking, Camping, and serving the Lord are my favorite things to do!

Why I am a Mormon

I have not been Mormon all my life. I was raised with a Christian background, but my family didn't attend church very often. When I was 14 I remember thinking to myself and feeling that I needed to attend a church regularly, but I didn't know where to start or what to do. I put off this prompting not thinking much of it thinking my life was fine where it was at. I soon entered high school where I met my best friend who was Mormon. He always invited me to church activities. I was hesitant to accept at first, but I eventually began going to youth activities, and having a lot of fun. I then started to date a Mormon girl. Which was when I started going to church. The first time I went to a Mormon church I was shocked by how nice everyone was. It was unlike any church I had been to. Everyone new everyone, and I felt so welcomed. After church the missionaries asked me if they could come and talk to me about the church and all that they believed. I said yes, because I felt it would be rude not to. Later on I thought about what I had gotten myself into, and was very unsure about going to the lesson. I went keeping my word that I would, but I had intentions to let them know I wasn't interested in continuing the lessons. However it seemed every time I tried to I couldn't tell them no when they wanted to come back. As I went through the lessons I became more interested, particularly in the fact that we are able to ask our Heavenly Father the truth of anything, which had never occurred to me. About the third lesson they asked me to pray and ask of God if the Book of Mormon was true. That night I prayed and asked my Heavenly Father if what I have been taught was true, and I felt an overwhelming peace and comfort. I had found what I was looking for, and now, almost 3 years later I am serving a mission. My life has been blessed in so many ways than I could of imagined. I am the only member of my family that is Mormon, but I am grateful with how supportive they are!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing everyday to serve Jesus Christ, and following his commandments. Being a Missionary I am blessed with the opportunity to teach others about what I, and millions of other Mormons throughout the world believe. To bring people closer to Christ and share the overwhelming joy and love I have received from my Heavenly Father with many people!

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are very much so Christians! We know and believe Jesus Christ is our savior and redeemer. We strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ in every aspect of our lives. We share The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It testifies of Christs dealings with the ancient people in the Americas. Jesus Christ is the center of our faith and the head of our Church. Show more Show less
