Hi I'm Kelsi Johnson

I'm a Mormon and love it!

About Me

Currently, I am preparing to go on a mission to Cleveland Ohio/ Historic Kirtland visitor center! I leave March 27, 2013 and I can't wait! I am originally from Mesa, Arizona, but during high school we moved to Aliso Viejo, CA for my dad's job. I grew up in AZ on the water wakeboarding and skiing. I love water and just hanging out at the beach. I also grew up playing the piano, singing, playing sports and being active. I love going out doing things and also just spending time with my family. My family has always been my first priority. I have always been pretty homey and sometimes would rather hang out with my family than going out with friends, I love them!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church, so I started out being Mormon just because my parents were. I never had a hard time with it when I was little because growing up in Arizona, there are a lot of LDS people and all of my friends were Mormon, so that is all I really knew. I just had to decide for myself if I really believed in it. I always tried my hardest to keep the spirit with me because I had felt what it was like to not have it. Just doing the little things in life really make the biggest difference. After moving to California, I think that is when my testimony grew the strongest. I wasn't surrounded by many of my same faith and I struggled and went through many, many trials, but that is when I learned that we need Heavenly Father the most and need to put our faith in him. Even recently, I have learned that what we may want, is not always what He wants and He knows best. It is always the Lord's will, not our own. He loves each of us so much and wants the very best for us. I have learned that, even if we are going through things that are extremely difficult, we should count that as a blessing that Heavenly Father trusts us with something so difficult. He knows that we can pull through. It can only make us stronger people. I love this gospel and I love my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as best as I can through following the commandments, going to church and serving those around me. I have learned that through service is when we are able to love all those around us. It also makes us happier. In our church, many of the adults have "callings" where we are able to serve in different positions in the church. I have been able to serve in callings since I was really young. I was recently the primary chorister for the little kids, a temple prep teacher(for those who want to know more, or are about to enter the temple) and even a pianist. All of these callings required a lot of time and effort, but it made me happy to know I was helping.
