Hi I'm Joe

I'm a missionary, totes def a Mormon

About Me

I'm a missionary in Louisville, Kentucky, I love movies, and music too. I like to sit on the deck on a cold night bundled up in 6 jackets, 2 scarfs, and lots of socks. I enjoy the use of hashtags, and a good ol' selfie is usually in order. I take a lot of pics, but I'm no photographer. I enjoy the zoo, especially if we get the group discount. I yell out names for animals when I see one. Like Geoffrey for Giraffes, and Eddy, for elephants. They never respond, but hopefully they will one of these days. I worked at a grocery store and put stuff on shelves for 6 hours a day. I can hold 3 gallons of milk in one hand till it gets too cold. I've broken many gallons by accident. I've tried to clean up milk from under a shelf, hoping I got it all so that it wouldn't stink the next day. I worked hard at that job. I like to watch hockey. I like to drive around the block till the song ends. I can never turn away a doritos taco. I'm from southwest Arizona, it's very hot there. Nobody can say my last name right and I'm okay with that. Se habla espanol. Not really, it doesn't rub off like that.

Why I am a Mormon

I've given a lot of time to reading the Book of Mormon, and the Bible, and every time I do, I can feel the Spirit of God. And how could the Spirit be present as Paul describes it if the Book of Mormon were not true? These books support each other, they testify of Christ and teach of Him. Everybody has difficult times in life, no one is an exception. Christ suffered that we may become better through our trials and difficulties. I'm a Mormon because I'm not perfect, and this church helps me try to be. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect." Matt. 5:48 If it were not possible, it would not be commanded of us. "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." 1 Nephi 3:7

How I live my faith

I teach people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. While preparing for my mission, I wanted to be able to say that I had an overpowering feeling that the Book of Mormon was true, and that the church was true. Many others had said they had that type of feeling, but not me and I wanted one badly. I remember how hard I prayed for that answer one night, but still it never came. Then another night, as I was seeking that answer, the words came to my mind, "You already know it's true." It was true, I did know it was true, and I still do. I may never have such an answer from the Spirit, but that's okay. That event has lead me through my mission. I love my mission, and my Savior, and my Heavenly Father.
