Hi I'm Christina

I'm living the dream in the Tri-Cities of Washington. I write, edit, sell, read, and review novels. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently involved in every stage of a book's life. I'm a writer, editor, seller, reader, and reviewer. Thankfully, one of those occupations is actually paying me. While writing can be a cheap occupation, I have a few expensive hobbies. My harp stands proudly on the top of that list (don't worry, the large instruments are made to balance). Simple piano playing, fancy photography with computer editing, and any medium of 2D art are other ways I like to spend my time. My favorite pass-time, however, is being with my husband. It doesn't really matter what we're doing, as long as it's together. We read, watch TV shows, go on walks, and run errands - whatever it is, we make it an adventure. Again, I'm living the dream.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have Mormon heritage, I've gained my own testimony through personal revelation and prayer. I know God loves me as my Father in Heaven, and I believe the Book of Mormon was translated through divine power to instruct us in these last days. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God to restore the true church of Christ. I trust Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today, to lead us through these troubled times. I'll be the first to admit I'm not perfect, but I know I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't have faith in these truths. I know how my choices to follow Christ have made me a better person. I occasionally struggle with depression, and I don't know if I'd still be here today without the knowledge that God loves me as an individual. My beliefs in Jesus Christ and the restoration of His gospel are a large influence of who I am. I've put everything on hold to serve a mission and spread these truths that have blessed my life. They give me a more positive outlook on life and the world around me.

How I live my faith

I'm a graduate of Brigham Young University and return missionary from the Washington, Everett, Mission. Regardless of my love for writing, I put my career and hobbies on hold for something I love more. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I spent 18 months dedicating my life to spreading His truth. The blessings it has given me throughout my life are innumerable and I shudder to think where I'd be without it. I no longer wear the name-tag, but I still strive to be an example of Jesus's teachings through increasing faith and good works. I currently serve in the church as a promoter for JustServe.org - an awesome website for community service opportunities.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

In every language except English, we title this member of the Godhead as the Holy Spirit. He is not an unseen being to be feared, but a heavenly friend on whom we can rely. We believe the Holy Spirit to be a comforter and revealer of truth. I have come to know of the truthfulness of this gospel by praying and feeling God's answer through this comfort. We also believe the Holy Spirit can bring remembrance of all things to us. This understanding has given me great comfort as I struggle with my memory. Through trial and success, I've proved the Holy Spirit to be the best study partner through my high school and university years. Show more Show less
