Hi I'm Kirsti

I'm a college student, (almost) a wife, and a Mormon!

About Me

I love music, mountains, hiking, running, rain, thunder, stars, clouds, nature, old buildings, and the way the sun turns everything orange right before it sets. I also enjoy laughing, talking, smiling, music, watching movies, yoga, and playing with kids. All of those things I like doing with my family - three sisters, one brother, and my parents. I'm a missionary preaching the gospel and serving the people of the Massachusetts Boston Mission. After my return home I will go to beauty school, and to college for my business management degree. I aspire to one day own my own salon. First, however, I want to raise a family with my future husband, and teach my children the importance of having a personal relationship with their Savior, Brother, and Redeemer: Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because God made a plan for me, and Christ is central to that plan, and He guides me through His prophet just as He led those whose stories are in ancient scriptures. I know that I can feel complete joy as I live as Christ would have me live. I know that He died for me. I known that He lives for me too. He suffered for my sins and hard times so that I can return to Him. Even though I was raised in the Mormon faith, I had to learn for myself if the things I was taught were true. I followed the same path anyone (raised in the LDS church or not) has to take to come to know if these things are true. After much effort reading the Book of Mormon and praying, I received my answer in a personal, sacred manner. I still receive answers every time I ask God. I know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only church on earth with all the truths necessary for salvation.

How I live my faith

I make an effort to make sure that the things such as praying and reading the scriptures don't become commonplace in my heart and in my life. The Gospel is very important to me and I do my best to do the day-by-day things to build and strengthen my faith. I go to church to better myself, because I´m not a perfect person and I need Christ in my life. I look for opportunities to lift others. I look to be a true christian and follower of Christ by constant repentance and work to become like He wants me to become.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kirsti
When I'm holding a baby, and they feel so fragile and precious in my arms, that's when I know there's a God. When I'm at the mouth of a canyon and see the trees and rocks that make up the mountains on either side of me, in perfect harmony with the rest of the nature surrounding them, that's when I know there's a God. When I'm with my family, and we're telling jokes and laughing, and I feel as if I could stay in that one moment for eternity, that's when I know there's a God. When I pray and ask for forgiveness for something I have done, and I feel peace, and hope, and a love I can't describe, that's when I know there's a God. Show more Show less
