Hi I'm Matthew Jerald Johnson

I have grown up in Alberta, Canada. I love Harry Potter. I also love making brownies and cheesecake. I am a Mormon!!!

About Me

My name is Matthew Johnson and I have grown up as a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. I didn't always live in a way that brought me closer to God, but as my life changed I found that living close to God was the best way to live. We are trying to model our lives after a perfect being; there is no better example! During High School I worked at a Full Service Petrol Station for 3 years and I learned a lot about God's love for His children as I served many people there. I graduated from high school in 2012 and I completed one semester of University where I began studying Biochemistry. I am currently living in England, but once I return home from my service as a missionary I hope to pursue a career in the medical field. Since I began serving my Heavenly Father as a missionary I have been able to experience many miracles in my life and I know that my family back home in Canada has been blessed as well. I really do know that God loves me. I really do love this gospel and I know that God is pleased with the paths that I am walking!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was already active in the LDS Church. I am pleased to say that I am also an active member of the LDS Church and I love it. At this time I am serving a Mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in the England London South Mission. I am a member of this Church because I know that it is true with all my heart. I know that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God and was the first Prophet in this dispensation. The Gospel was restored on the earth through Joseph Smith and by the power of Heavenly Father. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet on the earth today and that he, along with all the other leaders of the church, receive specific revelation and direction from Heavenly Father in order to guide us and direct us. God wants all of his children to return to live with him someday. I am a missionary for the church because this gospel has blessed my life so much and has brought me immense joy and happiness. My purpose and goal is to share that with others so that they can feel that same love and joy in their own lives. God loves us and wants to bless us, we just have to show him that we are ready for his blessings. I have experienced the love of God in my life many times and he has led me to know that this church is true! I also have felt the blessings of being raised in the church and I know that God plans for my family to be together forever; that is something I want and desire for my future family.

How I live my faith

I am showing my faith right now as I serve as a full-time missionary for the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the England London South Mission. As a missionary we leave our home, family and friends for two years in order to dedicate that period of our lives fully to serving Heaveny Fathers children. The blessings of being a missionary are incomparable and as a result of my service thus far I have really felt the power of God's love for me and for all of his children. I love the Scriptures and I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Prayer plays a huge part in my life and I know that we can always turn to our Heavenly Father for guidance and direction. 1st Corinthians in the New Testament says, "That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." Prayer is the way that we can seek personal guidance from our Heavenly Father. That is how I know that this church is true and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God! As a missionary we set apart two hours for study every day. This sacred time has helped me to better know the Savior and Heavenly Father. I really do love the scriptures and they can provide us with great strength in our lives. I love and truly am blessed to be a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. When we keep the commandments that we have been given then we will be more receptive to the promptings of the spirit and we will feel the love of Heavenly Father more abundantly in our lives.
