Hi I'm Amanda Peterson

I'm a college student majoring in English, a ballroom dancer and a Nerdfighter. Most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children and I've lived in Utah all my life. I have traveled to Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Germany, Austria, France, and India... all before the age of 18! I've been vegetarian for the past 5 years and I love cooking delicious (and sometimes healthy) food. I am grateful to be at a wonderful school studying English. My favorite author is John Green (though my British Lit class is increasing my love for Tennyson) and my favorite genre of books is young adult realistic fiction with maybe a side of fantasy. I want to be a literary agent "when I grow up" as well as mother (think I'd be busy enough?)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the truth of this gospel. I have felt God's love for me and I have felt the redeeming power of Jesus Christ's Atonement. The principles of the gospel are simple and vital and they provide for eternal life with our families. The peace that the gospel brings is unlimited. I love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that through Christ's atonement, I can repent and be forgiven and find true comfort. Because of Christ, I will live after death, I can have eternal life. I am so grateful for God's love for me. Because of His love, my life has a purpose: to obey and love Him, and to become like Him someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always do what is right, even when no one is watching. I pray often, I study my scriptures, I do my best to keep God's commandment. I always aim to make others happy or help make their lives even a little bit better. Simple, I know, but important.
