Hi I'm Claire

I love the Spanish language. I play bluegrass folk music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, majoring in economics, with a healthy blend of Spanish and music woven into my semesters. For two semesters, I wrote an opinion column for the school newspaper, voicing the ideas I tried to promote as the president of a political club on campus. For fun, I practice classical violin or go jam with the local bluegrass players. I've got five younger siblings, and I adore each one.Together, we produce musical shows for our parents' anniversary every year. Inspired by the same interests as the anniversary shows, my childhood dream was to star in Broadway musicals. The closest I ever got to fulfilling that dream was a spot in the Children's Chorus of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat -- my dad was the star in that one.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. In fact, My family have been members of the church for about four generations -- since the restoration of the Gospel. But I didn't decide to serve a mission because it was expected. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that sure knowledge motivates me to serve in the church and try to keep the commandments. I know it's what the Lord wants, and I want to help build his kingdom on earth. I can't even describe the peace and happiness the Gospel has brought to me.

How I live my faith

In my singles ward, I've been serving as a ward missionary. This has been a great chance to get to know some great people, who I likely wouldn't have met otherwise. When you serve people, you grow to love them a lot. These days, I'm serving as a full time missionary, and I couldn't be more grateful.
