Hi I'm Destinee

I am the Youngest of 8 Children, I have a B.A in History, I am Maori, I am a Mormon

About Me

I Live in Greytown New Zealand. I am the youngest of 8 children. Because we have such a large Family growing up was a lot of fun. I love to read, Act, sing, and love to meet new people. Though I love learning about Histories from all over the world. One Day I hope to travel around the world and see those histories that I have learned about.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member when she married my mother, and then latter on he too joined the church, this meant that I grew up in the Church, learning and growing my own understanding from the moment I was born. For most of my Childhood i leaned on the Faith of my parents and the others that were teaching me. only believing it was true because they told me so. It was not until I was 17 and I listened to a Children Choir singing the Children's Song I Feel My Saviours Love that I could feel His love for me wanting me to find out for myself and to stop depending on my parents. That is when I decided to read the Book of Mormon for myself. I had tried to do so before but half way through I always seemed to read it less and less, as I put other things first. This time though I was committed. When I finished I got down on my knees and prayed to know if what I was reading for myself. I got my answer and have not looked back since. I continued to strengthen my testimony when I studied at Brigham Young University Hawaii. This was mostly through Service projects in the community. There is something about giving yourself to help others that allows you to come closer to the Saviour and Know that you are doing the right thing, to see the smile on their face, (even though they might not be apart of the gospel) they cannot believe that someone would do something like this for them, it makes my heart swell. My mother continues to be the biggest example in my life, 2 years ago she passed away, I know that one day if I am worthy enough that I will be able to see her and live with her again, it is this Knowledge and the feelings of love that I get when I am learning about His true Gospel that I know the way I am living is TRUE.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to teach the little ones from the age of 3 -12. It is such an amazing thing to see their understanding grow, both from what their families teach them at home and from what you put into your lessons. This means that I have to know a lot of different activities, to keep the children entertained, and I love seeing the children I teach come up to me when I am out with Friends and Family, coming up and giving me a Hug puts a smile on my face every time. I will be also serving a Mission in Sao Paulo Brazil. I cannot wait to meet the people of Sao Paulo, to offer them all the time and Talents that I can. and hopefully to bring them the happiness that I have as well.
