Hi I'm Lauren Barden

A native Minnesotan, I am currently a BYU student about to leave for an 18 month mission in Taipei, Taiwan. I love life!

About Me

I love to travel, run long distances, participate in politics, scuba dive, and go for long walks around Minnesota lakes. In the summer of 2012, I completed a study abroad to Israel with BYU's Jerusalem program that forever redefined what Christ means to me. I am continually in awe of the beauty of the world and its people. My faith is everything to me. It is my most precious possession and gives me peace, purpose, and my identity. I aim to be the best person I can be to help others to come to know the joy that I feel from my beloved faith.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything I hold dear I owe to my God and my faith. It gives me clarity, direction, joy, and protection in a world where the lines between right and wrong are becoming ever more blurry. I am a Mormon because I have felt on many occasions, to the point where there is not a question within my soul, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I have learned for myself by taking the promise found in Moroni 10:3-5 and asked God of the truthfulness of the Mormon Church. He has answered me over and over again in the most profound and powerful ways. I encourage all seekers of truth to ask for themselves with real and pure intent to know the truthfulness of the LDS faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day in the way I treat those around me and how I live when others are not watching me. Being a follower of Christ means striving for goodness constantly. I never "check my religion at the door" no matter how small a matter may seem. I'm not perfect but I'm trying to do a little better each day!
