Hi I'm Marylou

I grew up in Connecticut. I have a degree in Child Development and Family Relations. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked with young children and their parents in daycare centers, as well as trained teachers to work with children. However, my greatest career has been to raise my own children, and now to help with my 5 wonderful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 24 I was praying for some guidance and direction in my life. I felt a need to go to church but didn't feel like the church of my youth would provide me with what I was searching for. Shortly thereafter the Mormon missionaries came to my door. There was a warm and comfortable feeling when they were in my home. I had many questions, but when I read The Book Of Mormon and prayed about it, I knew that it was true. I was baptized and it has made all the difference in my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has provided me with a meaningful purpose and direction in life. My life is better because of it, and I try to make life better for my family and those around me by living the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first by trying to be a good example to my own family, and to love and support them in their efforts to raise their families. Next I try to be an example and support to my neighbors and the community at large. Church has given me many opportunities to serve others. Serving in the Women's organization has provided numerous opportunites to be a support during times of trials in others' lives. Serving with the youth and the young single adults has kept me physically and mentally active while having lots of fun! Serving others has turned acquaintances into lifelong friends, has helped me see life through others' eyes, and has helped me to be grateful for the blessings that I have. But most of all, serving others has helped me to grow closer to my Savior, to feel His love not only for me but to see how much He loves all of us. I try to live my faith by loving and serving those whom the Lord has placed in my path.
