Hi I'm Derek Wille

I am a medical student at the University of Washington. I'm a husband. I'm a father. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six children and was raised in Wyoming. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Exercise Science. Between my freshman and sophomore years of college, I served an LDS two-year mission to Leon Mexico. I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine. In 2009 I met my beautiful wife and we are blessed to have a 17 month old daughter. We are currently expecting our second daughter this month!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is easy. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ because it is the only way that one can find true happiness in this life. If I seek to keep the commandments and follow the Savior's example, I will find happiness and success wherever I am. The gospel helps me be a better husband and father and reminds me of what is really important in my life: my family! I am grateful for my Savior and for his Eternal sacrifice for me. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently, I have the opportunity to work with young single adults in our church. It has been a blessing to get to know these individuals and help them combat the trials and temptations of every day life. These young adults have many difficult decisions to make that will affect them and their families forever. It is incredible to see them make good choices and come closer to the Savior even when the world does not agree . They are great examples to me and my family.
