Hi I'm David

I was adopted into a loving home. I play football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been a member all my life and I am extremely thankful for it. I have been playing football ever since I was 12, and it has taught many prinicaples that the gospel adresses. I am the 2nd oldest in my family. My older sister, Emily is 3 years older then me and my younger brother and sister are both 9 years younger then me. We adopted them from Russia. I love my family my faith and football. These three things are what drive my life everyday. The Church has blessed my life in ways that I could never have imagined. And it continues to do so every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I have continued to be a member of the Church because of the way it makes me feel. The spirit is always with me and lets me see what the right thing to do is. It helps me and guides me. The Church teaches me correct prinicples and then lets me guide myself and make my own decisons.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply doing the little things. Reading the scriptures studying them, praying and attending church are 3 basic things that I do to keep myself morally acceptable. I also strive to be an example of the believers. I know because of my faith people watch me, especially my team mates. There have been times where I have been offered drugs or liquor and have just said no. It is not difficult, just saying a simple word that represents where I stand in my beliefs. Now they know that I want to do whats right and they respect that. I know that this gospel is built by just living a good life and being a good person. Having faith in Jesus Christ has helped me to become the person I am today. Baptism has played a key role in how I live. If it wasn't for my baptism then I would not be a member and would not even live my religon. Another blessing that helps me live my life is the gift of the holy ghost. It has guided me and led me to do good things and stand in holyplaces. The gospel is built upon simple principles that help us live a good life and one day return to live with our Heavenly Father.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

David
of course you can attend church with us! We love it when we see new faces in our wards and branches. Come with a friend, a family member or even by yourself. It really does not matter as long as you come and enjoy yourself and find what you are looking for. We would love to have you! The services in the begining block are where we partake of the sacrament, just like Jesus Christ did with his Apostles. This is by far the most important thing we do at church. It invites the spirit into our lives and lets us remember what Jesus Christ did for us. After the first meeting we go to class and learn about Jesus Christ and his gospel. We are seperated into different classes and go with members and non members that our are same age. This part of church is where we really grow close as a family in the church and become closer with God. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

David
Yes! This is the truth. In The Book of Mormon in 3rd Nephi Chapter 11 the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ apears unto the American People. He teaches them his gospel and invited them to follow Him. He sets up His church by calling 12 men to be His Apostles in America. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
