Hi I'm Bret Goesch

I'm a Student, an Oregonian, a fun-lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Keizer, Oregon as the youngest of four brothers, which was a riot. I was involved in a lot of stuff(school, sports, performing arts, church, service stuff, etc.). I love my family a ton, and they're a gigantic part of my life. Speaking of gigantic, I am really really big, like 6'7" big. I really enjoy having fun. I think having fun is a major part of a healthy diet. I recently returned from serving a mission in South Carolina Columbia Mission and it was too legit to quit, but eventually I had to quit because my two years were up. It was probably the funnest tough thing I have ever done in my life, but also the most rewarding thing I've done. Now I'm working and will be attending BYU-Idaho to pursue a degree in something. Then doing amazing things with my life. And that's a wrap.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God told me the Book of Mormon was true when I read and prayed about it. I was raised in the Church, but everyone has the choice to live it or leave it, and I have chosen to live it, simple as that.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by being my best self. This Gospel allows me to learn principles of righteousness that make it possible for me to truly reach my fullest potential. There isn't an aspect of life that doesn't relate to the Gospel, so I live my Faith in every aspect of my life. Paul said "be thou an example of the believers..." and that is what I try to do.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Bret Goesch
The Word of Wisdom is a commandment revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith in the 1830's. It outlines things we should avoid putting in our bodies, and things we should put in our bodies. I remember it with an acronym: A-Alcohol in any form T-Tobacco Products T-Tea that isn't herbal I-Illegal Drugs C-Coffee What I like about that is that it rhymes with addict, and the Word of Wisdom helps us remain free from addictions so that we can maintain our agency(free will). The Word of Wisdom also promotes eating a balanced diet and exercising so that God can bless us for taking care of the gift(our bodies) that he has given us. Show more Show less
