Hi I'm Sara

I'm a missionary. I'm happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just--what I believe to be--a completely normal girl. I love the outdoors--doing things like riding four-wheelers, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, being with animals, and the list goes on. My family owns a dog kennel, so for all of my life I have been with dogs. I have eaten dog food many times when I was little, and I remember that I actually liked it. Something else that I absolutely love is being active. Playing sports. They are wonderful. My favorite is basketball, but there are times that I really just need to go on a good run. Reading is one of those things that I can always fall back on; I absolutely love to read. I read everything, I am actually an English major in college. I am also a Culinary minor. I think cooking and baking is absolutely fabulous. It makes me so happy to create something in the kitchen. And I love to serve the things that I make to others. That is probably the best thing about baking for me. And of course eating it isn't bad either. I love ice cream, and I love chocolate. Yes, I am one of those kind of people. Movies are the absolute greatest thing ever! But, overall I love to just be doing something. Even if that something is sitting with my mom and talking to her. My family is always the best people to be around, so I am around them most of the time. I am serving a full-time mission!!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Everything about being a Mormon is what I love. I love being a Mormon! I do! It makes me happy and makes my life worth living. I was born into this church, but I still had to gain a testimony to know for myself what it true. And that is what I did. At around the age of 12 I started to gain my testimony for myself. And since then it has grown dramatically. My testimony is what I rely on. I think about it and trust in it and follow it. I know that I have a Father in Heaven and He is proud of me. He loves me more than words can express and that love keeps me going. I testify that Jesus Christ lives. He is my perfect example and His light radiates throughout this world. If I just think about Him for a second that Light can come to me and warm me from the inside out. And through that Light I can help others to come unto Him. I know that Jesus Christ, my Savior, died for me. He suffered for my sins—and I have so many that it makes me hurt inside to know that He had to go through that. But I am grateful every day for that Sacrifice. Joseph Smith is a man that I cannot wait to be in the presence of. For he is a man of God. And he restored the Gospel to the Earth—I know that to be true. The Book of Mormon is perfect. I lean on it and through it I get through so many trials. I could go on and on about how much the Book of Mormon has made an impact in my life. It is a true, very true, perfect book. I know that I have my up days and I have my down days, but never once have I questioned that God is real. I hold on to that whenever my down days are taking over my happiness. I know that Heavenly Father is real and He loves me.

How I live my faith

I have been born into the best family in the world. I have always been taught to live my faith. Something that I have found is that no matter where I am, I have to be true to it. If I tell someone that I am a Mormon, there is a certain behavior that must follow. And it isn't just that I have to follow it, I want to. I have been given so many opportunities to lead others, teach others, and serve others. And it is all that I ever want to do. I am able to live my faith in my everyday life by being happy and having fun, I know that I am happy because of my faith and I need to show others that that is the reason. Because, honestly, I have been given the best life to live; and I know it is because of my faith. There are organizations that I have been a part of in my church. Most of them involve service for others and caring for others. Not just on the outside, but on the inside. I can get the most out of truly serving someone. I am assigned other women that I can go and visit to make sure that they are doing good and if they need help--I tell them that I will be there for them if they ever need me, and I mean it. I have a job to do in my church. Some of them include being different presidents for organizations and a teacher to little kids. I have been given the opportunity to speak to groups of people--anything from five to over a thousand people. And I learn so much by doing so. I love to teach people and help people become happier. Living my faith is the most important thing that I can do with my life. And I absolutely love to doing it!
