Hi I'm Brennon

I grew up in Utah. I'm from a broken family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents split up when I was four years old, so I don't know much else besides the demographics of a broken family. With my mom and step-dad I'm an only child. With my dad and step-mom I'm one of six, three of which I haven't seen for 8 years because they live with their dad. I like playing bass in my band, His Name is Simon, as well as acting. My favorite thing to do with friends is get breakfast at McDonald's at 12:00 am. As of right now, I'm serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tucson, Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

The Atonement of Jesus Christ has saved my life, as well as my mothers, my fathers, and both of my step-parents. It is the only way to return back to our Father in Heaven and be perfect as He is, as His Son, Jesus Christ is. A lot of times I tell people that if it wasn't for my knowledge of this Gospel as the fulness of truth, which it is, I would be Agnostic, or one of those Coexist people, because I'm not a huge fan of organized religion. But this church is different. Through personal revelation from God Himself, I've come to know for myself that everything that is taught through the Book of Mormon and modern day prophets is true, and that if I follow them, I will be a happier person. And I can testify that it makes you a happier person.

How I live my faith

I'm 18 years old. In October 2012, the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson changed the age that you could serve missions from 19 to 18 for men, and from 21 to 19 for women. When I heard that, I went nuts. I could serve a mission six months earlier!! I've been really excited to serve a mission for as long as I can remember, because this Gospel has made me so happy, and I can't help but want to share it with as many people as I can. I'm one of the first missionaries who are 18, and I'm very excited to see more come in the coming months.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Brennon
The universe has many lasting and unbreakable laws. Gravity, the way Light works, the fact that humans need oxygen to breathe. Another example of one of these laws is the law of Justice. God is a perfectly just God. And as He's taught us, no unclean thing can enter into heaven. However, God is also a perfectly loving God, and wants us to live with Him again. As this is true, He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sins and satisfy the need for justice. When He suffered in the Garden of Gesthemane and then again when he hung on the Cross, Jesus became our mediator, providing the way for humans, who are inately unable to live perfect lives and keep themselves unclean, back to heaven. It is impossible to comprehend exactly how this took place, but through revelation and scripture, we know that Christ felt every sin, every bad day, every stubbed toe, every heartbreak, every single thing that you could even think of. Because of this, we can give our burdens to Him, so that our shoulders may be made light. Show more Show less
