Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a crazy girl from good ol' Utah! I live and love the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Brooke. I come from a family of 5 people. I am currently serving a mission for 18 months in Santa Rosa, California in May 2013. I love to play tennis and do anything outdoors. I love the Spanish language and I love to eat food! I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life. I grew up in the church because both of my parents are Mormon, but I didn't fully receive my own testimony until almost a year ago. I had left for college and I decided that it was time for me to figure out what I believed in and knew to be true. Over the past few months, my testimony of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the plan of salvation, and everything that comes with the gospel, has become stronger than ever. I know the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live.I have received my own personal witness of these truths. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer who came to earth to atone for my and all of His children's sins so that we may return to live with our Heavenly Father someday. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ work through the Holy Ghost to guide my life in the direction that is pleasing to them and I know that is what I am supposed to be doing. Knowing these things has given me so much happiness and peace in my life. I trust in my Heavenly Father that everything happens for a reason whether it be good or bad. We experience everything for a reason and these events help us grow closer to Heavenly Father and the Atonement of Jesus Christ becomes so much more real in my life. I feel my Savior's love everyday. He is my rock which keeps my truly happy. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others in my community. I was part of a local youth council a couple years ago, and serving other people who I didn't know let my heart grow and I learned to love everyone. I participate in visiting teaching. This program has helped me get to know a couple of women and love them. I try to live my faith so I can be a good and happy example for others and try to find others to serve everyday. I feel so blessed to be able to serve a full-time mission and I am excited to serve God's children in Santa Rosa California! This has made me such a happier person and I love life!

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes. Mormons are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ and know His teachings to be true. There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ, that answers this question perfectly. "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice of Christ, we preach of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children my know that source they may look for a remission of their sins." (2 Nephi 25:26). We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the sure foundation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He is the center of our church and we have an everlasting faith in Him. It always was about Him and it always will be. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Fatih is a principle of power and a principle of action. I like the word "action" associated with faith. It is by faith that small and simple things (as well as great things) are brought to pass. Faith is having a hope for something that you cannot see. For example, I have never seen Jesus Christ in person before, but I know with all my heart that He lives. Faith takes time to develop and you have to work at it. It start as tiny as a seed, and the more effort you put into developing your faith, it will soon become as big as a tree. Even the smallest amount of faith can make miracles happen in your life. Having trust in God gives you faith to believe in Jesus Christ's name and His teachings. Show more Show less
