Hi I'm Summer

I have been spiritual since childhood and searched to find the restored gospel.

About Me

I am married and a mother of two daughters. I love eating healthy and caring for the earth. By profession, I am a Holistic Health Practitioner. I have a passion for wanting to help others care too. This is why I am involved in my children's school Parent Teacher Organization and Girl-Scouts. Most important I am who I am, a child, a daughter, of The Living God, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a spiritual child but grew up in a home that did not speak of Christ or anything else really. I only knew that my mother had faith enough to pray that she would make it home safe from work everyday to her children. I wanted to know this God I felt compelled to pray to. I grew up in a worldly way, thinking that happiness laid in satisfying the flesh. I smoked, drank coffee a lot, was permiscuous, and searched for love and truth in these ways and with psychedelic drugs and all the while claimed to be a spiritual hippy of sorts. I was looking for the world to fill up my void. My view of the world was dark. During this time I was also listening to psychics on TV, investigating Buddhism, and drawn to Sanskrit which meant investigating Hinduism and yoga. By then, I was far into my studies as a holistic health practitioner and travel to Thailand to learn Thai massage for a month. Shortly after that I prayed to the Lord that if Jesus Christ was more than a man to reveal it to me. Soon after, I found myself in La Jolla, one of the most beautiful beaches in San Diego. The tide was far out and I was drawn to a tide pool that looked to be brighter in color than all the rest. When I got there, with no thought of my own, I felt the spirit in a split moment take me to my knees and I saw in a vision Jesus Christ with Joseph and Mary. I was also given a message to show my sadness and not my anger. This is a life lesson for me. From that moment I believed that Jesus was more than a man who lived and impacted history more than any other. I began to have intimate conversations with two friends. One wanted to be a priest of a Calvary Church and another was getting his life on track to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I studied and asked questions, attended & most importantly I prayed the Lord would reveal to me the answer. Upon praying prostrated on my bed, I felt flooded with the confirmation this is his restored church.

How I live my faith

I believe is the one and only source of power, Heavenly Father, who gave us Christ our Redeemer. They made sure that through the Holy Ghost we would have a written record of the "Big Story" playing out and what our role in that is to be. I feel empowered, loved, and better understand myself and and the world when I read the scriptures and pray in earnest communion. The most important thing I do is working at keeping an activated relationship my eternal father and friend. I also participate in food storage and family history callings. I make an effort to connect and visit with members and non-members alike. I look for opportunities to be apart of discovery moments that activate and inspire a change of heart and direction.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

It is an abridgement of writings from prophets who lived in old-testament times. They left the East and headed West to the American continents. Mormon complied their writings into what we call the Book of Mormon. After Christ, the church was strong for a time and then quickly fell away. Warring killed them off. Mormon buried the plates and asked the Lord to perserve them. The Lord heard Joseph Smith's earnest prayer and after a time he obtained the plates and was able to record them into our language. The bible confirms that prophets were an important part of His plan and that Christ established apostles/prophets to be with us after he was gone. The bible shows that people like Solomon and David at a young age were given great blessings and power. They wrote two of the most amazing books of the bible, Proverbs and Psalms. Yet later in life they both committed grievous sins breaking Gods Commandments. Yet David is considered a "godly man" in the bible and the lineage of Jesus. Repentance is the key. God uses sinners. God uses us in his great story. I believe in Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon and the Restored Bible. The Lord has confirmed these things are true to me. Show more Show less
