Hi I'm Ryan

I Love Theater. I Love Games. I Love to Read and Write. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four kids. I have three younger sisters. They are some of my Favorite people in the world. I would always give up time to help and support them. We love to play games together and always have a blast when we hang out. Most of my free time I like to read and play video games. Some of my Favorite games are Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, The Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy. I also love theater. Theater can only express the things that we wish we could in real life. I love the excitement from the stories and love to be part of them. When I lose myself in a good story, I forget about the world and all the bad things that happen in it. That is why I love theater. I can become part of those stories and be part of them myself. I love leaving the world and going into the world of imagination.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up, the answer to this question would be because my family is Mormon. Now, because of my personal experiences in life have brought me to a knowledge of the truth that God lives and that his son came to atone for my sins and to help me through my trials. My life has been filled with trials that I never thought that I would ever go through. Some have been harmful to my spirit. But thanks to God and his appointed servants, I have the opportunity to serve God as a full time Missionary. I am striving to become the best that I can be and hope that I will always continue to be worthy of God. I know that through Christ's atonement, I can be healed of all that I have done wrong in my life. Only in this church have I felt that healing power of the atonement.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the church and have been active my whole life. I am currently serving as a Missionary in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I am loving every moment of it. I don't know how i have kept my faith all these years. I have had hard times in my life. There were many times that I wanted to give up. But I knew that God was there. He cares for me and wants me to succeed. Being a member of the church has helped me see who and what I can become, and not just in this life, but the life to come as well.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A Testimony is a personal knowlage that something is true. We share our testimonies when we go to court so that they know that we are a witness to what happened. The same for the Gospel. Mormon's share their Testimony of what they know to be true such as the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It can also be about Joseph Smith and how we know that he is a Prophet of God. We have had a spiritual witness that what we believe is true and then we share our Testimony with others so they may feel that it is true as well. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

God has worked the same way throughout history. The Apostles were chosen by Jesus Christ, and were the leaders of the Church when Christ Died. However, with the death of Judas, it left an opening in the Quorum and needed to be filled. Matthias, in Acts chapter 1 was chosen by revelation to fill this position. Also Paul, after having his revelation, was also ordained to be an Apostle. We have these 12 men to help lead and build the church worldwide. The church cannot function without there experience and testimony. They are Witnesses of Jesus Christ and Know that he is the Savior of the World. With this knowledge, they help us come to that same knowledge. Show more Show less
