Hi I'm Mike Hill

I AM A MORMON - Baptized March of 2012 I was born and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. Married to Linda Hill

About Me

I am 66 years old - I am retired - Married - Three grown Children - One Granddaughter - Worked as a DOD Civilian Employee US NAVY -

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion started when i met my wife. I had been a Widow for several years. My daughter was visiting me and she though I should get on Facebook. She set me up with an account and I started talking. It was a dating site associated with Facebook. I joined the dating service. One day my wife showed up and I contacted her. As all date services do we could only communicate a few minutes before it cut us off (my wife was not a member). However one day it let us on long enough to provive each other our phone numbers. It progress from phone coversations, to dates, to love, and finally to marriage. My wife is a MORMON. She never pushed her beliefs in our discussions or our life. I started going to her church. Everyone was always friendly and always there to help. I met two very special young Missionaries one Sunday. The Missionaries asked very politely if they could come to the house and discuss their Mormon beliefs. I said yes and for many weeks and months I read, studied asking questions, going to church, and prayed, The Wife, Missionaries, and Church members were always there to assist and answer all questions that I had asked/discussed with them. One day the missionaries were at the house, they were talking with the wife and I was listening to their conversation. It is hard to explain but I had a sense of calmness and happiness. I spurted out to everyones's surprise that I wanted to join the church. I have changed to the better. I am a better man, ready to serve God.

How I live my faith

I am a recent convert (baptized 3/2013) - I am a very happy individual since joining the churh. I love serving others. My first calling was as an Usher (I love to talk). My present calling is as the Bishop's executive secretary. I serve the church members by assisting the Bishop in his responsibilities by scheduling church leaders and members interviews and appoinments, update meeting Agendas, working with the ward clerk updated reports to the Bishop, etc. I am in the process of becoming a better Home Teacher. I have a lot to learn but doing my best. The church leaders and members are the most friendly and supportive individuals that I have ever been associated with. As a senior I participate in various functions, bingo, lunches, trips, etc. I am in the men' group (Salvation Army) and attend meetings, lunches, trips, Senior Home visits, etc. I love attending Plays and Operas. Most of all going everywhere with my wife.
