Hi I'm Riley Barmore

I play the bassoon, saxophone, piano, and guitar, I'm currently serving in the Utah Salt Lake City East Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great desire to play music. I've had the opportunity to attend school and start my major in Music Therapy. An attribute that people almost automatically notice about me is my musical abilities. I've been able to find a place where I simply have fun and hope to be able to share this same feeling with me. The best part is to be able to be a part of a group of people who have the same desire and same attitude as I do. The most important part always falls back to having fun. As long as I have fun, whether or not I've had a good performance, I'm happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, so I was able to get a "head start," if you will, as far as knowing things in the gospel. The reason I'm a Mormon today though is because I find happiness and support in whatever I do. I see that in others lives they usually have hatred or complain about how hard life is. In the gospel, I'm able to look for the things that are good rather than bad. I see challenges in my life and I embrace them hoping to gain something from it. I'm someone who wants to make sure I make my mother proud as well, and I know it would absolutely destroy her if I were to deny something so wonderful, where I could gain so much more in the life to come. I've found refuge in a place where I have a family, a home, and someone always there that I can count on, and that makes me feel reassured.

How I live my faith

As one of the only members in my age group, it's a little difficult to live to the standards at times, but I've always found that when I do, I'm happier. As a musician, some of the only music that I play on the piano is church music, which often intrigues people to know what I'm playing. I've been able to be an asset in the community as far as working goes, and setting an example for people to follow for a work ethic. I love to be able to help people in the community so that everyone can have a happier, easier life.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Riley Barmore
The church's stand about Joseph Smith is that he is the prophet that restored the Church of Jesus Christ to these latter days. We do not worship Joseph Smith, we respect him as the prophet of the restored gospel. without him we wouldn't have had the gospel brought back to the earth or the authority to perform such great and wonderful ordinances such as baptism, perform blessings in the name of Jesus Christ, or hold the same priesthood that Moses, Abraham, and Jesus himself held. We worship God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He is literally the Only Begotten of the Father. Show more Show less
