Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 9 years old. My family learned about the church through a neighbor that my dad had met one night. They started talking and my dad ended up inviting their family over for General Conference since that family didn't have cable. So that Saturday my parents sat and watched it with them. That evening my dad was invited over to the Priesthood session with our neighbor and he liked what he had heard and on the way home he told our neighbor that our family would be joining the church. The next month we had 2 sets of missionaries teaching us and the beginning of November my whole family became members of the church. It wasn't until recently that my testimony of the gospel began to grow and I know now that the church is true for myself. I was reading in the Book of Mormon for myself for the first time about a year ago when I began reading about the Atonement of Christ in 2 Nephi chapter 9 and I felt the spirit testify to me that what I was reading was true. Also in 3 Nephi chapters 11-14 when Jesus appears to the people on the American continent I felt the truth of what I read. I have a firm testimony of prayer and the power it has to help people in whatever circumstance that they encounter and in need of the Lord's help. I know that Heavenly Father will also be there for you and wants the best for you. I have a stronger faith in Heavenly Father & trust in him. I know that he knows me better than I do myself and he knows what is best for me. I am blessed to know that this church holds something that the others don't. I know that this church is the true church and I'm thankful that we have a living prophet of God on the earth today that is here to lead and guide us in the world today. I know that the Book of Mormon was given to us to help us and guide us in the world we live in. I'll be forever grateful that my parents decided to join the church and that we were sealed for time & all eternity as a family.

How I live my faith

I have a calling in Primary as the secretary and enjoy helping to teach the children about the Savior and the basics of the church. I feel it's a blessing to be able to help the children to learn more about the Savior and to see their testimony of the Gospel grow as they grow. I consider the Primary to be my home away from home. I love all the children as if they were my own.
