Hi I'm Logan Staples

I grew up in Idaho and South Carolina. I love basketball and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I like hiking, sports, and being active. I'm attending college at BYUI studying accounting/science with plans to attend medical school afterwards to become an anesthesiologist. I served as a missionary for two years in Spain, so I'm fluent in Spanish and I am currently learning French as well. I really enjoy doing new things that most people haven't done; for instance, in 2010 I went hang-gliding with my brother and some of his friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We try and practice what Christ preached without excusing ourselves out of the responsibilities that we have been given to live the gospel (keep the commandments) and share the gospel with others.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I try to keep the commandments out of love for the Savior and His sacrifice for us. I believe that we all have a personal responsibility to live our lives out to the best of our abilities. I actively participate in church activities, and I try to share the knowledge that I have been given through diligent study and prayer with others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Logan Staples
We believe that it is our responsibility to share Christs teaching with all mankind, including those who have already passed away. We know that they are still alive as spirits and therefore the Gospel is preached to them in this state by the spirits of men who received the teachings of Christ in this life. Because they are in a spiritual state, they cannot be baptized for themselves, so we act as proxies to be baptized for them in the temples throughout all the world. They can then choose to accept this baptism or not. Show more Show less
