Hi I'm Chris

I teach music for a living, I love being a father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father and a musician. My wife and I are both grew up in Oregon, but we met at school in Utah. I teach music at the high school level, and I love seeing the way music can teach us how to be good human beings. In teaching I have developed a craving for knowledge that I wasn't aware of previously. I hope to obtain a graduate degree in the near future so that my family and my career can be more secure in a changing educational environment. In my spare time I love snow-skiing, boating, attempting to golf, and spending time with my wife and daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have witnessed for myself the truthfulness of this church. I do not need to rely on anyone else's word or opinion to keep my faith strong - I have found God on the other end of my prayers, and he has told me that this is His church. As I try to live His Gospel, I am encouraged by all the wonderful things that this church has to offer, but I realize that Mormon's don't have a corner on the goodness market. I am Mormon partly because of the way my faith teaches me to love others of differing faiths and opinions, and because I have seen people of my own beliefs reach out to others with immense kindness. While I am a Mormon first and foremost because of divine personal revelation, I am also a Mormon because I love these people and I love this way of life.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things about my faith is the opportunity I have to serve others. Currently, I am the organist for our congregation as well as the choir director. I enjoy using sacred music to learn and teach of the Savior's life and of His Gospel.
