Hi I'm Jake

I'm an American accountant living in London, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

North Logan, UT, is my hometown; London, England, is my new town. I like photography and love traveling. I find it hard to resist purchasing a good looking bow tie, I may or may not tear up when I hear the Utah state song, and I don't like when cereal commercials show milk splashing out of the bowl. I am an accountant by trade and am currently doing US tax work at a big firm in London. I love the challenges my career brings me and am grateful for the opportunity I have to be living in one of the greatest cities in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Very simply, I'm a Mormon because I know it's right. Without a knowledge that I belong to the true church and the hope that I can one day receive never-ending happiness, the life the world offers me would be far too difficult to resist. But, I know that I feel the happiest and most at peace when I am doing my best to follow Jesus Christ, as a member of His true church. I've been blessed over the years to have gained a firm knowledge that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the Earth and that it is found in its fullness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The truth regarding Heavenly Father's plan for us allows me to find meaning in my life and brings me hope through difficult times.

How I live my faith

More than anything, prayer and scripture study help me to draw closer to my Heavenly Father on a daily basis. Church attendance allows me to learn and recognize ways in which I can be a better member of the church and a more diligent follower of Jesus Christ. I have learned over the years that living the principles of the gospel each day opens my life up to blessings from my Heavenly Father that I am otherwise unable to enjoy. I try to be a little better each day, and even though I fail all too often, God never gives up on me. So, as I see it, neither should I give up on Him.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons love Jesus Christ! He is the head of our church and we recognize Him as central to God's plan for us. We know that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world, and His sacrifice allows us the opportunity to find peace through our trials, strength in our weaknesses, and forgivenesses from our sins. Our church is founded upon His teachings and bears His name. Yes! We are Christians! Show more Show less
