Hi I'm Amanda

I love to paint. I love doing service. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college to study International Relations. I love to meet people from different places. I'm trying to learn the Spanish Language. I am an artist. I use my talent for painting to worship my God. I want to explore and travel because I love the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon faith home but I have chosen for myself to hold tight to my Membership in the Mormon Chruch. As I have grown up I have experienced and learned what things make me feel happy and fullfilled and the things that make me sad and feel guilt. I choose to be a Mormon because I see that God's laws and commandments that have been revealed by past prophets in the Bibile, the Book of Mormon and the words of modern-day Prophets and Apostles are the safe guards that teach me how to stay away from the things that make me sad. I feel confident and of worth when I learn about God's love for me and that He has a plan for me as an individual. When I read the Book of Mormon I can see God's plan for me. He wants me to be my best self, care for others and work hard for worth-while and lasting things that bring joy. When I read the Book of Mormon I am uplifted, I am motivated to be a more courageous and kind person. I feel good when I read the Scriptures and obey the words of living prophets. Through reading them I learn more about my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ and my purpose on this Earth. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He died that I might live with Him and my family forever. I find peace in this Gospel, I know it is true and I love the person it makes me by abiding by its teachings.

How I live my faith

I am involved with the service council at my college and my Institute of religion. Our purpose is to help those at my school and in the surrounding community meet their important needs. In my Church I volunteer as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. In this calling I encourage a handleful of women to reach out, visit, serve and get to know women they have been assigned to watch over and be friends with in the neighborhood. I make note and record if the women have been met with and how they are doing. This program helps the Bishop of my ward know if any one is in need of help or care, weither that be because of a sickness, sorrow or wavering faith. I myself am assigned women to watch over and befriend. I love serving in my calling, I have grown a love for the women in my neighborhood.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We do not worship Joseph Smith. We revere him as a prophet of God who through the guidance of God restored Jesus Christ's church in the time we live in now. We revere him because of his example of faith even as a young boy. One boy's honest, sincere and urgent prayer changed the world. Joseph Smith's life in service to our God and all of the world has changed my life forever. Show more Show less
