Hi I'm Jake

I was born and raised in Utah, I'm an avid sports fan, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life.

About Me

I've lived in Utah my entire life, and currently live in a city called Springville. I've always loved sports, and competitively played both basketball and football. I have 1 older brother, and 2 wonderful parents. Growing up, I always believed in God, however, at times in my past I struggled with my faith. I faced various trials and difficulties which caused me and my faith to falter, and I found myself in a place I did not want to be - I was unhappy, without direction, and searching for purpose and hope. I served for a time as a Missionary for the Church in Barcelona, Spain, as well as for a time in Irvine, California. The Experience I had serving as a Missionary truly changed my life. I developed a very strong, and personal love for this Gospel, and for my Savior Jesus Christ and his infinite Atonement, which has changed my life. I have, through experience, gained an unshakable and undeniable testimony of my Savior and his everlasting Gospel. It has brought me true and lasting happiness, hope, direction, and purpose, replacing the sore unhappiness and confusion I once knew. I am infinitely grateful for the love that my Savior Jesus Christ has for me, and for each one of us living on the earth today. I am grateful for his Atonement, for the opportunity we all have to change, and for the peace and blessings His Gospel brings into my life every day. I testify that it is true, and it is a message and a joy that I hope to share with everybody I can throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true and restored church of Jesus Christ, in its entirety and fullness, on the earth today. It gives me great knowledge, and brings real, lasting purpose to my life. It has and continues to bring me great happiness and peace in my life, even in the most difficult of times. Where once there was sorrow and pain, there is now great and true joy and peace. Where once there were questions, there are now answers. I have a testimony that my Savior lives, that he loves me, and that he loves each of us beyond comprehension. I know that this is His Gospel, and this is His church restored to the earth in these latter-days for each and every one of us to hear, to live, and to rejoice and find joy in. I testify that He lives, it is the most precious knowledge that I have, and I testify that you too can come to know the very same.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and striving to do my best to follow the example that my Savior set for me. I love and appreciate every person with whom I come into contact with, because after all, everyone is a person - filled with thoughts, ideas, feelings, and emotions of their own...facing trials and difficulties of their own...doing their best to get by in their own particular situation. It isn't my place to judge or assume - there is but one savior and one judge for us all, his name is Jesus Christ, and he is doing a perfect job. My place is to do as he would, and Love my brothers and sisters, each one of them here on the earth. My place is to empathize with them, lift them any way that I can, and help them on their journey here in this life by being a positive, kind, understanding, and loving part of it - we all have the same ultimate goal, to return to live with our Heavenly Father someday, and in my eyes, we are all here helping one another along this journey back to Him. I invite the spirit into my life, I strive to help and serve others, and to invite the spirit into their lives as well. I try to live a life filled with love for others as our Savior did, helping and inviting others to come unto Christ, to feel his love, to view themselves as He views them - for the worth of every soul is great in the eyes of God. We are all spiritual sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father, I testify that is true. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for each of us in the greatest act of love ever shown - the Atonement - so that we may return to live with Him, I testify that is true. I live my faith because I love Him, and I try to show that love the best way I know how - by striving to do as He would every day, keeping his commandments, living His Gospel, and helping others to feel and know of his infinite love, and of their infinite worth and divine nature as spiritual sons and daughters of God.
