Hi I'm Jordyn McKenzey White

I'm a mormon!

About Me

A little about me... I would like to consider myself somewhat of an artist. I enjoy painting, sculpture, and ceramics. I enjoy listening to music, laughing, & hanging out with friends. I attend Brigham Young University-Idaho. I'm a sophomore majoring in Biology, & I hope with that degree to attend Dental school. In October, I turned in my mission papers, and I am called to serve in Curitiba Brazil. I leave for the Provo MTC March 20th & I am looking forward to serving the Lord for the next 18 months of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because through this Gospel I have come to understand who I am and what makes me happy. This Gospel has changed my life in so many ways. I didn't grow up in the Gospel. I was raised in a divorced home with parents trying to find their way through life. Growing up without the Gospel in my life didn’t start to affect me until I became a teenager. As a teenager I didn’t have any rules or responsibilities. I could do anything I wanted and had no one to answer to. Without rules and expectations I felt unloved and uncared for. I felt lost. I wanted to have a purpose. I wanted to be able to associate myself with something, to be proud of it. Due to a series of events I moved into a gospel living home. I moved in with Matt and Julie, my uncle and aunt, and their three children at the time. For me it was definitely a culture shock. I went from a home that had no rules and no parental guidance, to a home where I had responsibilities, someone to answer to, and most importantly three little humans watching my every move and looking up to me as an example. I began to go to church on Sunday, mutual on Wednesday, and seminary every single morning. As I did so my life began to change. I wasn’t the unhappy, lost teenager anymore. I was finally happy and I realized over time that I finally stood for something. By living my life the way Heavenly Father wanted me to I realized that I am a daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday, by trying to make good choices that I know will please my father in Heaven.
