Hi I'm Jill

I grew up in Utah. Now I get to see the world. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I wanted to get married from the time that I first understood what that meant. I always thought that I would be one of those girls who would graduate from high school and get married right away. But the Lord had a different plan for me. It took me a while to come to understand that the Lord was preparing me to be the person I needed to be for my future husband. I did not anticipate that I would reach my 32nd birthday before I was blessed to be married in the Temple. Looking back I see how many opportunities the Lord blessed me with that helped me grow as a person and closer to Him. I am grateful for that time of preparation. I love to travel and have been blessed to see so many of God's beautiful creations. I enjoy reading and writing and I have kept a daily personal journal since 1992.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I know that I am a better and happier person because of it. There are times that I wanted to give up because life is hard. But the Lord always let me know that He is there for me. I know that He will never give up on me and I can't give up on Him. I have learned that just because my life isn't going the way that I want it to doesn't mean that He isn't blessing me. I had to learn to recognize those blessings instead of always focusing on the blessing I wanted. Once I did this everything else in my life fell into place. I had to learn to put my complete faith and trust in His plan for me. I have been so very blessed because I endured. I am constantly learning that the Lord knows me far better than I know myself and He is helping me to reach that potential only He knows that I have. He has put opportunities in my path that seemed impossible, but taught me so much and helped me progress. He shows me everyday that I can do more than I thougt I could. I am still learning and I am far from perfect. I have been blessed with a wonderful and understanding husband who was worth every moment I waited for him to come into my life. He is such a great example to me. I am eternally grateful for him. I know that Jesus is the Christ. He is my Lord, my Savior, and my Redeemer. He lives. I could not be who I am without Him and His Gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. I am a member of His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It gives me purpose and fills my life with joy.

How I live my faith

I grew up as a member of the Church. My parents taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have been great examples to me. They allowed me to learn and find out on my own if this was the true Church. I have gained my own testimony and I know that it is true. Over the past three years I have been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to serve the youth of our congregation. I have enjoyed teaching them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and being able to share with them personal stories and how I gained my own testimony. They teach me so much in return and I am grateful for that. I love being able to associate with and serve the many members of our congregation. As a military wife I have felt great comfort in being away from my own family, as we have moved to new parts of the world, because I know that there is a church family waiting for me. My husband and I enjoy serving and being surrounded by so many wonderful people who share our same values and faith.
