Hi I'm Brandon Miller

I was born in Utah. I'll play basketball for the University of Utah when I get home from my mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Sandy, Utah to a family of seven people. I am second to youngest. I have one sister and three brothers. I have grown up playing a very competitive level of basketball. I have traveled the country to various tournaments and individual camps. My teams have won several national championships starting from the 3rd grade to the 8th grade. I recently graduated from Brighton High School and I played varsity basketball there for four years. I graduated early, right after the basketball season ended, so I could serve a mission. The University of Utah basketball coaches have agreed to hold my basketball scholarship for two years so I can serve a mission. I have also received offers to forgo a mission and play professional basketball down in Switzerland. I have chosen to serve a mission and then play at the University of Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happy. I have a great family who gets along well and I credit this to us living the principles found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have come to love the gospel and I have found that by following the commandments, I have avoided a lot of bad situations. Because of the gospel, I have kept myself morally clean. I have never had to deal with any stress or drama that comes from not staying morally clean. By living the Word of Wisdom, I have had a healthy body that has given me much success in both basketball and my everyday life. I continue to be a Mormon because of the knowledge I have received from the teachings of Christ. Although we are known as Mormons, we do not worship any man or thing named Mormon. Nor do we worship Joseph Smith. Our faith is totally predicated on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. I believe that He is our Savior. I have made mistakes in my life and have experienced the healing power that comes from His Atonement. I also am a Mormon because we believe that we can be with our families forever. Even after we die. I love this faith and that is why I am willing to sacrifice all I have to go on a mission.

How I live my faith

I have served on the seminary council at my high school. I will be on a mission for the next two years where I will be serving my fellow men in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and New York City. I give service and help people understand their pupose here in this life and what they can do to find lasting and true happiness.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Brandon Miller
We are very family based. Before school, while my brother and I eat breakfast, my parents read us the Book of Mormon and other scriptures. We call this time family scripture study. Then, just like any other kid I go to school. I have basketball practice after school then I go home and do homework. Around 6 o'clock or so we eat dinner as a family. Then I do more homework or watch TV for a little. Before I go to bed I do my own personal scripture study. After that I head to bed. Show more Show less
