Hi I'm David

I grew up in Texas, and I am the youngest of five kids. I joined the military after college, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Channelview, Texas. I am the youngest of five kids, and both of my parents are converts to the church. I enjoy sports, reading interesting books, and watching movies with my wife. Being in the military has given my wife and I the opportunity to travel and see many different cultures. I'm looking forward to having children of my own one day and sharing my hobbies and interests with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember not caring for church as a young child. Sometimes I would hide from my parents in order to avoid going. However, as I matured their efforts to teach me good morals and values seem to somehow stick, and I started to actually enjoy going to church. Eventually I made an effort to find out for myself if the gospel was true. It didn't happen overnight, but after some time I came to know that those principles and lessons that my parents shared were true. This experience helped me as I committed myself to serve a mission and share the gospel. It was a blessing for me during the time I served a mission for my church, during my time I spent at college, and during the time I spent deployed as a member of the military. Now it has helped me to strive to be a good husband to my lovely wife.

How I live my faith

Being a husband has been a rewarding experience, especially since I have a wonderful wife who supports me and keeps me in line! Although we don't have children yet, we both have been blessed with the opportunity to serve the youth of our local congregation. She and I both have the chance to prepare and teach them lessons about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Plus, our congregation give us many ways to serve others, such as people in the community, in our congregation, or even people in another country.
