Hi I'm Zach

I am born and raised in Utah. I love to longboard and wakeboard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me.... I love the summer. My favorite things to do during summer are to wakeboard, long board and if I can, surf. I wrestled all through high school and I love combat sports. Boxing is my favorite. I really enjoy playing video games more socially than anything. I want to major in Bioengineering after I get back from my mission and from there go into medical school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon so I have been one all my life. However I like anyone else as a part of this Church needed to find out for myself if it was true or not. If I didn't than there wouldn't be a point to continue going to church and everything. I remember distinctively one night I was laying in bed and I was reading in the Book of Mormon. I do not recall the versus I read but something about them hit me, I prayed to my Heavenly Father right than and I received an undeniable feeling from the Spirit. It was so strong and I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I have not always been perfect and I make mistakes but I know that it is only through this gospel and through the atonement of Jesus Christ that I am able to return to live with my Father in Heaven once more. LIfe is definitely tough and there will always be those challenges and those temptations put in our way and sometimes it may just seem easier to give in. I am still a Mormon and strive to live its teachings because it brings me absolute joy in my life. There is always hope and happiness no matter what circumstance I may be in. I know I can pray and receive comfort so even when things are hard and seem to much to bear, I am not alone. Jesus Christ suffered and atoned for my sins so I don't have to bear them alone and it is such a blessing to know that no one else has to either. That is why I choose to serve a mission so that I can bring the same Joy and happiness that I have from the Gospel into the lives of any and all those that I teach.

How I live my faith

Right now my calling in my ward is to teach in my Priesthood group on Sunday. I really enjoy that because its been great for getting experience in teaching. I am leaving to serve a Mission in Spain and I am very excited to go and teach there and to have the opportunit to meet the great people that live there.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is when Christ went into the Garden of Gethsemane and suffered for our sins. This was a necessary step because Christ made it possible for us to be able to return to our Father in Heaven once he broke the bands of death as well with his Resurection. If Christ had not suffered for our sins we would have no way to repent of them and to be forgiven. God is just and we must be held accountable but with the atonement effective in our lives by having faith in Christ, having been baptized and confirmed by proper authority and recieving the Holy Ghost, striving to live the Gospel everyday and when we do mess up and sin having the humility to get down on our knees to pray and to ask for forgiveness. With the Atonement we are able to have that mercy from our Heavenly Father and be forgiven. That is why it was necessary for Christ to suffer for our sins and to give his life. So that we are able to ask for forgiveness and be made clean through the atonement. Show more Show less
