Hi I'm Brady Nelson

I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I study at the University of Utah and have been called to serve in the New York mission.

About Me

I am 18 years old and currently attend college. I enjoy playing sports and being active. I can dunk a basketball and do backflips off things. I play the piano, guitar, and bass. I enjoy making mash ups of songs and playing by ear. I can juggle 7 balls at a time, and have been to a world convention before. I like spending time with my family and being with friends. I love going to church and am so thankful to be a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and have sometimes wondered why that was. I sometimes thought that it would be better if I had been baptized later when I better understood what it meant. 8 years old seems kind of young. However, I now believe that it has been a great blessing in my life to have grown up with the gospel with a home and family who has always encouraged and supported me. I'm glad to have been baptized so young. I have been tremendously blessed by the Lord for my obedience and am so thankful that I am a member of the church. The gospel refreshes me and keeps me going. I know I can always count on the Lord and pray to Him whenever and for whatever. I'm glad I know who I am, where I came from, and where I can go if I will continue to be obedient. The gospel truly brings peace and joy, and that is why I continue to live it. It is the happiest way to go through life and brings the most blessings. I am going on a mission to share the truth with the world and help them return home to their Father in Heaven. I love the Savior and am eternally in debt to Him and the Father. I love them and for that reason I obey them.

How I live my faith

I served on the high school seminary council in 2012. We promoted and encouraged students to attend seminary and made videos to get people excited about attending and learning about the gospel. We attended the temple every week to do Baptisms for the dead. Our theme for the school year was taken from Job 23:10 and was "Come Forth as Gold." We even had chap sticks made for all of the students. It was an amazing opportunity and the highlight of my senior year. I currently serve in my singles' ward as a home teaching District leader. I have been called as a missionary to serve in the New York, New York South mission, Spanish speaking. I am so excited!
