Hi I'm Amanda

I love nutrition. I love fashion. I love laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I love learning and becoming better each day. I'm currently finishing up my last few semesters as an undergrad. I am studying Public Health and I plan on getting a Master's Degree in Public Health emphasizing in Obesity, Eating Disorders, and Body Image. I love playing volleyball and being with my family and friends. Laughing is something I do often so I love anything that is funny. :) I love public speaking and hope to include that skill in my future career some how. My biggest dream in life is to become a mother and influence young girls on proper body image and confidence.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a very personal, genuine answer from Heavenly Father that this church is true. The teachings of the Plan of Salvation are a huge comfort to me when I experience trials in my life. I know that we have a very loving Heavenly Father. I know that we lived with him before this life and that we loved him and he loved us. He created this earth for us and sent us down here to learn and grow, to receive bodies, and have families. The center of the Plan of Salvation is Jesus Christ and through him we can go back to our Heavenly Father and live with him again and be happy with our families. Sometimes in life, I make mistakes and get discouraged. But being Mormon gives me hope and peace that I can be forgiven through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon I have the knowledge that I am never alone. I have a Heavenly Father who I can pray to and receive answers. Being a Mormon brings peace into my life when everything around me says to give up or it's too hard. I'm a Mormon because it brings true everlasting happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the small and simple things that bring the spirit of God into my daily life. I know that I cannot do anything or be anything with out Heavenly Father or his Son Jesus Christ. When I was baptized at age 8, I promised Heavenly Father that I would follow Jesus Christ and live my life the best I could by doing what he did. As I do that, I am promised that I will have God's spirit to be with me at all times. That spirit is the Holy Ghost which is the comforter, peace giver, protector, and part of the God-head. It is a guide to have in all aspects of life. The small and simple things are what brings this spirit into my life. By saying my prayers, reading my scriptures daily, going to church, full-filling my Relief Society Calling, and doing my visiting teaching, I am living my faith. I'm doing what the Lord has asked me to do. Most importantly, I live my faith by serving others around me. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I live my faith by serving, loving, and helping those that need an extra hand, a shoulder to cry on, and a friend.
