Hi I'm Elder Gabe Davis

I was born in New Mexico, I'm in Jamaica on a mission, I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in the Jamaica, Kingston mission! Prior to my mission I worked as a mechanic for a John Deere and Arctic Cat dealership, guided waterfowl hunts and also fished in bass tournaments. I spent any of my free time in the outdoors because thats where I felt close to the Lord! I came to find solace in the gospel of Jesus Christ as it offered shelter from a lost world. I came to accept and rely on the savior to lead me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Im a Mormon because the Savior saved my life. I feel duty to serve Him because I owe Him everything. I often recall the place I was in previous years and look back from where I am now in awe. As I contemplate the road I was saved from, it makes being a Mormon the only thing that makes sense. I know that this church is in reality Christ's church. I know through careful study and more importantly through careful and heartfelt prayer that the Book of Mormon is true. It is indeed the word of God and will help us through any rough time in life. It will help us to grow a testimony of Jesus Christ and know of his character and nature.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simple things; reading scriptures, going to church, and of course by keeping a close relationship with God through prayer. Now as a missionary serving far from home, I have had to rely on the Lord to help me through trials and comfort me when other sources fail. By praying with faith, believing He is there, I have come to grow to love Him. Because I love Him, it becomes easy to live the faith.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Elder Gabe Davis
My family is sealed in the temple for eternity, and our bond and love for each other is deep and sincere. I have noticed a extreme difference in our family life compared to some acquaintances of mine who do not live the gospel and are not sealed forever. I often see a dysfunctional outcome, parents arguing and children feeling misunderstood. The church and its teachings have helped my family love each other deeply and, through Christ and his example of love and forgiveness, work though our miscommunications and disagreements to emerge closer and stronger.
