Hi I'm Abbie

I'm from New Jersey, born and raised. I love meeting new people and socializing. I am always smiling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending Brigham Young University for a major in Elementary Education and a minor in either Math or Science. I absolutely love learning and math is my favorite subject. I would absolutely love to become a teacher. I am the youngest of six children so a lot of what I've done has been following in their footsteps. I've tried to make it my own though. I played soccer for six years - center defense - and now love playing sports with friends. Soccer, volleyball, and frisbee are my favorites. I did band - mallet percussion - and choir - soprano - since 4th grade. I also was in two percussion ensembles in high school. I did Girl Scouts since I was in Kindergarten. I was an officer of our school's German Club senior year. I love people. I love going to places and events where I can meet new people and love just socializing in general. I am terrible with names though so that can make meeting new people interesting. One definition of Abigail is "Fountain of Joy" which is something I have tried very hard to be. I just find looking for the silver lining in life so much more enjoyable than focusing on the grayness of the cloud.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into the church, I am a Mormon because I chose to be one. I love this religion and the joy it brings me. People at school used to always ask why I was so happy all the time and the answer truly is because of my religion. I have been to church with my friends of other faiths and while I respect their religions, I love the spirit that I feel when I attend my church meetings. I love the peace that comes when I read and study daily from the scriptures. I love praying about something in the morning and seeing how God has answered that prayer throughout the day. I love looking back on the day and seeing all the ways I've been blessed. I love logic which is probably why math and science are my two favorite subjects at school. I love how this church just makes sense: having a prophet on the Earth now like there was before, Christ visiting others of God's children and not just those in Jerusalem, etc. All in all, I'm a Mormon because I love it. I love every single thing about it. I love how it brings me peace and makes me happy. I love how it answers my questions and makes logical sense.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. My week just does not feel right if I didn't go to church at the beginning of it. I follow what my soccer coach taught me to master the basics. I live my faith by keeping to the basics like attending church, reading my scriptures, and saying prayers. I try to make myself always available to answer any questions my friends have about this church. I find that by answering the questions of others, my knowledge of my religion is increased.
