Hi I'm Jonny

I grew up in Utah. I love everything about soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Everything about my life revolves around soccer. I love the game and have so much passion for it. I have been playing since I could walk and my brothers and I always argue about who is the best. I am currently going to college to get a degree in Hospitality Management. Hotels is another passion of mine and I eventually want to be the General Manager of one. The biggest reason I want to go into this industry is that I love to help people. I love seeing a smile on someones face when I do something that helps them. I am currently at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, learning Japanese and preparing to serve a mission in Tokyo, Japan!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the Church. By doing this I always attended my meetings on Sunday and did those things that I was supposed to do. This definitely does not mean that I had a testimony my whole life. I saw many friends fall off the path and into some bad situations. My testimony really came and was solidified when I went off to college. I was hanging out with my roommates one night and they were just making me feel really depressed. I went on a motorcycle ride and found a parking lot that overlooked the city. It was late at night and I just stopped and looked out over the city. As I was sitting there I heard these people coming down the hill singing a song titled, "I Need Thee Every Hour". I thought that I hadn't prayed in a long time. So I went home and I said a prayer. After saying the prayer I got a feeling of warmth and compassion. It made me feel so much better and it reminded me that I always need to keep my Heavenly Father close to me. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I know that God hears and answers our prayers and I have had many experiences that he has. I know that if we keep Him close to us, that we will be much happier. Without my testimony, that was solidified that night on the motorcycle, I may have slipped into a bad place. The Lord truly does hear and answer our prayers and knows each of us individually better than we know ourselves.

How I live my faith

I have done many service projects within the community. Many of my friends and I are Eagle Scouts. Part of getting that award is doing a service project that benefits the community in some way. Those projects varied from painting red curbs to building shelves for community closets. I held many callings within the youth organization of the Church. Part of having these callings was helping other youth within our area. We would do anything that they needed help with. One of the most common things we did was to invite them to the Wednesday night activities. These were a great way to help them forget about some of the problems they may have been having.
