Hi I'm Christie

I like to make videos and I love to laugh. I love to run... and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to play and watch sports, go hiking and fishing, basically anything active and outdoors! I also play the flute and the piano and love sharing my testimony and feeling the spirit through music. I love to run! I recently finished my first full marathon. I love chocolate, stepping on crunchy leaves, running in the rain, and playing with kids! I love the beach, and I've recently taken up videography! I enjoy sitting and pondering on my own and the smell of food cooking. I am preparing to serve as a full time missionary in the Caliornia Santa Rosa mission, Spanish speaking!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home that was abusive, but I thought it was only happening to me. We all attended church regularly, had family prayer and scripture study, held callings, and attended the temple. When I finally came out about what was happening I began therapy and really coming to know my Savior. Through those dark "Gethsemane" moments I came to know my older brother, Jesus Christ, as my friend. I learned how to rely on my Heavenly Father, who always keeps His promises. I was able to pray for myself to know of the truth, and got a confirmation. The Atonement has offered healing to me, and helped me be able to forgive my abuser, and myself. I know that bad things befall even the most faithful of members - and the gospel isn't there to rid your life of trials but rather give you something to hold on to while you are going through them. I am grateful for this trial He allowed me, in His mercy, to face because I came to know Him and His Son. I am a Mormon because the gospel brings me joy that lasts through dark days. The peace and the happiness greatly outlast the tears and sorrow. It gives me strength to face each day! It gives me hope, and always a reason to smile. It is impossible to feel gloomy for too long with the happiness the knowledge of the truth affords you! I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it!

How I live my faith

I take time to visit my family. I volunteer each month at a thrift shop that gives its proceeds to a care center. I was recently called to be the first counselor in our ward Relief Society! I love the inspired visiting teaching program. I also live my faith through my Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest by only having things on there that are modest and that are uplifting and can share my beliefs. I love sharing what makes me most happy through the internet!

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families can help you through the hardest of times, and share laughter with you in good times. The unit of the family is one we strive most diligently to protect because it is essential and central in God's plan for us. Throughout past and even greatly ancient civilizations you can find that when they fell, it was as a direct result of their tearing apart or distorting the family unit. Even if you are born in a family where abuse or other hurtful things take place, you can always work towards better loving each other in your family. It can be a sensitive subject to many from rocky backgrounds, but we talk about the ideal family in the gospel because then you can know what to look for in a spouse and how to shape your own family that you will start. We are blessed when we make family a priority over other things in our life. Families are a blessing because you can fortify each other and make your home a heaven on Earth. Show more Show less
