Hi I'm Jared

I'm from Idaho. I work in construction. I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I was born in Utah but moved to Idaho when I was 2. I lived there until I was called to serve a mission in Venezuela, because of the political atmosphere my assignment was later changed to Provo, Utah. Upon returning I attended BYU-Idaho where I received my Construction Management degree. I'm married and have two young daughters. We love riding bikes, playing in the park, and walking our dog, Backson. I enjoy playing most sports, hunting, fishing, and climbing. I spend most of my free time working on projects around the house with my oldest daughter (3 yrs). We also enjoy going to church on Sunday. My oldest daughter loves nursery where she plays with other children her age and learns songs about The Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

There is no other church that holds the authority from God to baptize for the remission of sins. This is a testimony that I have gained through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. God communicates to us today just as he did in the times of the Bible. Through the Holy Ghost, God has told me that he again has Christ's church established on the Earth, a church that has the same authority and priesthood as did the church in Biblical times. God blesses the lives of those who obey his commandments, I can testify through my experiences that the teachings of the LDS church are directed by God through his prophet, President Monson, and the 12 apostles. I could not imagine my life without the teachings of Christ. My family and I have received so much joy and assurance having the understanding that God lives, Jesus is the Christ, The Book of Mormon is the word of God as is The Bible, true Prophets and Apostles of Jesus Christ are on the Earth today, and that my wife and daughters will be mine throughout the eternities.

How I live my faith

As a member of the LDS church I have the wonderful opportunity to serve in many different callings. Recently I've been asked to work with and direct the Young Men in Scouting and religious efforts. What an eye opening experience it is to work with the youth of today and see what trials they face and their desires to serve The Lord. Currently I work with the middle-age group of men holding the Melchizedek Priesthood. As a member of this group I am asked to visit certain members of the ward monthly to ensure that all needs are met and that the family is maintaining their strength in Jesus Christ as their Savior. As a family we read the scriptures and pray daily. I try to remember the things that I learn in the mornings and use the teachings to serve my family and others throughout the day.
