Hi I'm Samuel Mangakahia

Born in Brisbane. Maori, fijian, english, scottish heritage. Love to play Basketball, love my family and the lord.

About Me

Currently i am preparing for a mission. I was looking at possible basketball scholarships for basketball but decided to serve the lord for 2 year and continue basketball when i return. Im also currently developing a brand called Fresh.Establishment with Fresh Ukes as the sub part of the company, the Fresh Ukes division is where i design and carve polynesian designs on ukuleles and guitars and the Fresh.Est is the apparel, hat and accessories im very passionate about it . I will work on it when i get back also with goals to make it as big as rip-curl. I love to dance mainly cultural and hiphop styles. I like to cook hopefully learn some mean korean dishes. I love to draw mainly maori patters. I love my family greatly and am very blessed. When am in tune with the spirit and feel it burn within me and do what is wright i am at peace and know that god is pleased.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be quite hesitant in sharing the gospel or talking about it with friends. As i have gained gold flakes of truths and testimony building experiences, i have come to know and feel that perfect love that the saviour gives. I feel as though now, i want to share my knowledge of the church as it can give others the same joy. I am still growing and learning and i know that when i serve the lord and forget myself and serve others i will know greater the lords will and find myself.

How I live my faith

At the moment i am a ward missions leader. This calling requires me to find and visit less active members and bring them back so they can feel that love that they may be missing form Heavenly Father. Preparing for a mission has allowed me to share the gospel and the roll of missionaries. This topic comes up in every conversation which i am happy to share, as i know it to be true, hence giving up 2 crucial years of basketball recruiting and college opportunities.
